Blah And Bleak To Positive And Upbeat A Poem

I went through the motions
Knowing time was passing
Knowing that sooner or later
I would want more happen.

And now it is coming.
Coming fruition.
I am going be more active
Doing things I had thought
Were beyond me
Just a short time ago.
Now I see they are possible.
Things are doable.

A pep talk for me
That I made it through
A time that was blah
A time I felt bleak
a time upcoming
That will be upbeat.
A time I can do
A myriad of things
That I thought
Were of reach.
Now they are possible
Was it just a matter of days?
A few weeks?
That is indeed the case.

Remember this self
In case you forget
That time passes
And while not a renewal
In an actual sense
Things can change
From blah and bleak
positive and upbeat.

Expectations Of A Day A Poem

The day will dawn
Like any other day.
The sun will make
It's appearance
Barring clouds
And rain.

But will it be a wondrous ?
Will my desires for such
Be met with their
Preferred outcome?

A day meet
A day get know
another
A day get our
Groove on!
Ah yes! that has been
On my mind often.

So will the day live up
my expectations?
I have hope
And will do my part
make it happen!

Lost But Gained A Poem

She had the photos
And videos
Of days gone by
When she had such
Glorious looks
Nary a wrinkle
Adorned her face.

Today she smiles
Looking back
Knowing she might
Have lost the battle
With elastin
But gained wisdom.

If only we all
Had such an outlook!
To frown not about
What we lost
But what we gained.
We had this journey to make.
We used the Visa
That destiny bestowed.
It was not a waste.

Love In Our Eyes A Poem

Will you ever look at me
With love in your eyes?
I hope that when you do
I can see it!
I will recognize
The glow and shine.

Will it be a mirror of my own?
Heaven would be smiling
Down on us.
For surely heaven
Played a part!
Bringing us together
Causing sparks
Eliciting feelings
That grow stronger.

Love in your eyes
A view to your soul
How I long for this sight
To become real.
Do you have the same wish
With the same zeal?
Does it hold the same appeal?
There is a word
For such wishful thinking.
It is possible.

Right With Excitement A Poem

You see the excitement
Was gone for a while.
It was dormant
Like a hibernating animal.
I knew it could come back
With the right coaxing
The season changing
Something coming along
That could jar me awake
Yes, a man or two
With the right words
With the right scenario.

All will be again
Right with the world!
Well my little corner
As excitement returns.
It builds and it grows
Let's hope it can be sustained
For a long time
For hibernation is no fun.

Thoughts On September A Poem

It is a new month.
September has been good for
The start of Autumn.
It brings mind
The new year
I did like that
I could start anew.
With new clothes
New hopes for success
In various subjects.
Seeing old friends again
Making new ones.
Seeing if we had changed
But hoping we were
Still on the page.

There are more things
be said about Autumn
The crispness of the air.
The colors that magically appear!
I long for that sight
But also despair that
Once the leaves are gone
The dreaded season of winter
Will come along.

September you are not
you say you are.
You have changed from
Your original meaning of
You have become the ninth month.
A word that is arbitrary in effect
A demarcation that became set
Many moons ago.
We know you now
As of .
Do you like where you lie
In the calendar?
Would you rather be
In the summer?
The point is moot
As you are just a word
With connotations galore.
Thank you for the exercise
That mind explored.

He Does Not Know My Dreams A Poem

He does not know
How much
I think of him
I will not ever tell
For that would
Give him power
I can ill afford
To lose.

He has said before
He likes control.
Should I be a simpering
Little ?
But will that mean
He can brush me aside
Like he has done
To many another woman?

It would hurt too much
To be in that category.
So I will forgo
Any meeting in reality.

I will think about him
Yes day dream
And dream
Of him in my sleep.
For in them he does
Something that he will
Never do in real life.

He will say those words
That would mean
The world to me .
He would show
In his actions that
The words are felt deeply.

Ah to be the woman
To whom he gives his heart!
To be the woman
Whose mind he praises
And adores!
To be the woman
He gives pleasure
Again and again!

I am dreaming!
I know and like most dreams
They come to an end.
They run a course
Like a runner in a marathon.
There is a high along the way
There is participation.
I might be the only one of us
In such a race
But when it is done.
When the endorphins are gone.
I can say it was good
While it lasted.

Masqerading As Single. A Poem

The truths
And half truths
And just out right lies
I ask myself why
Was I given
Such a recipe?

I know now
Thanks to social media
I didn't have to pay
Some private eye.

I wonder at his motives
Just a distraction
While on the road
For business.
His spouse had no clue
Using the hashtag
Best husband ever
In post after post.
Who should I feel sorry
For the most?
Me or her?

What gave him
The biggest thrill?
The cheating
The actual sex
Thinking he got away with it?

I'm not sure I will ever
Get to ask the question.
Does the answer
Really matter?
Only if I should ever
Again encounter
A married man
Masquerading as
A single one.

Stories To Tell. A Poem

I have stories to tell.
Doesn't everyone?
Are mine worth hearing about?
Will they serve a point
Or be inspirational
Or just offer enough
Information to make
One think and imagine
Themselves doing something similar?
Why does anyone write
But to express themselves?
Using our brain cells
To describe and compare etcetera.

Wrenches And Semantics. A Poem

Oh the wrenches that get thrown.
God's tool box must be bottomless
An unlimited supply of objects
That could be for good
But end up in the wrong hands
And wrong places.

An euphemism
Just a saying
For unforeseen circumstances.
No need to blow a head gasket
Over semantics.

Take a breath
Good that we can
Do most of the work ourselves
For repair bills
Can be gosh darn expensive.
Not to mention how hard
It is to find a repairman
You can trust.

Prove Kismet Exists. A Poem

Does he exist?
The man can match
heart and passion?
Why would the universe
Make me partnerless?

Where is the location?
Where is the time?
Will Kismet be defined?
Oh be upon
Some sign!

Weary am I!
Teary eyed
From a fruitless journey
So far
All in search of a partner
Made of similar star stuff.
We esoteric beings
That the universe made separate
meet
And prove Kismet's existence.

See With A Different Outlook. A Poem

You see me.
But you don't.
See nearly enough
Of my entirety
To really see
Me clearly.
Yes this is true
Of most people
Wouldn't you agtee?

We judge the outward appearance.
We judge a few actions
Or instances.
We write off a person
As unworthy
Or inadequate.

I am not alone
I am judged
And do some judging
I paint folks with
Broad and narrow strokes
Missing so much
Of the whole person.

Can I be forgiven?
Can I be offered the ?
One would throw away
Offensive and offending things
Never wishing to see them again.
The throw away society
One we live in everyday.
Look past move on
But what if
A saving grace was just
What we or someone needed?
Do not dwell but if
A second chance is proffered
Think it providence
Or coincidence
And take a different approach
See with a new outlook.
Alas we might like what we see
And thank our lucky stars for it.

My Mind The Victor. A Poem

I think of you
With less frequency.
It makes sense
You wanted the disconnection
We are no longer
On the wavelength.
Perhaps that in itself
Was an accident.
An aberration.
Ah yes.
It iis clearing up time
Ending misconceptions.
How noble a pursuit.
Like a jousting match
With favor win.
My mind the victor
If the right suitor
Is declared the winner.
My heart afforded protection
Instead of left unattended.
I have to see this
the end.
begin again.
