Terrible Ending To A Terrible Year

As with every year we lose a number of people who were very good at what they did or just because they were good humans. We also put up with a lot of bad news and shitty things that happen. And. of course there is the political BS which was especially PHD which made this year even worse. Now this on top of the Carrie Fisher passing . . .

I read earlier today that her mother, Debbie Reynolds, may have had a stroke and was hospitalized. Now, I just read several reports she too is gone.

Saturday NFL Game Pick – Week 15
This is the first Saturday Night NFL game now that the college regular season is complete. This Saturday’s game is another division rivalry. The only “advantage” the Jest’s have is home field, but my guess is it will be a snoozer . The only interesting thing will be to see how the fairly inexperienced QBs fair. The only playoff implication is that if Miami looses they will probably be eliminated from a wild card berth. Maybe I’ll join a sex site and get laid.

Miami at NY Jets (SNF) Dolphins

Last week my pick, the RAIDERS didn’t work out very well. This Thursday’s game is another division rivalry. Hard to figure what could happen because of the coaching change. If that hasn’t changed things for the Rams this will probably be a snoozer.

Well, I was hoping Mc would post this up but it seems like he’s gone to . . .

Anyway . . . [blog pocogato] has been regaling us with her Christmas song trivia and Hinj has twisted [post 3918981] , so I guess it’s my turn.

Now that my online class is over my mind has turned to mush . . . errr . . . I mean the holidays. But (or butt) “this is a sex site” sooo . . . Here are the songs you thought of . . . but wisely decided to wait till crazy ole RedRock posted them up. BTW, this is my holiday gift to y’all . . . You’re Welcume.

I Saw Mommy Doing Santa Claus – Jimmy Boyd
Did You Bone Who I Boned – Bing Crosby
Cum All Ye Faithful – various artists
Grandma Got Nailed By A Reindeer – Elmo and Patsy Shropshire
Santa Lay Me – Eartha Kitt
All I Want For Christmas is Ewe – Vince Vance and the Valiants
Jingle Bell Cock – Bobby Helms
Santa Claus Is Cumin' to Town – Carpenters
Silver Balls – Elvis
The Man With All the Sex Toys – Beach Boys
Rudolph The Alt, LGBT, Dom, bi-curious, BDSM, CD, Sub Reindeer – Gene Autry
(P.S. let me know if I left out any or subgroup)

There you have it, the titles to the songs that you can now write yourself. And yes, this, among other things, will get me a front seat on the Highway To Hell.

Carry on . . .

Last week my pick, the cowturds, was easy. This Thursday game is a division rivalry and for possession of the AFC West division lead. They are a close match up so not an easy pick. I’m going against what most of the expert game pickers are saying . . .

Oakland at Kansas City RAIDERS

1941 —a date which will live in infamy. . .” While Dec. 7, 1941 is a date which will live in infamy, will the lessons of that day live in infamy? I’m not referring to the surprise nature of the attack. I am referring to the reasons for it. Do people understand why Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and the lessons we would be wise to remember and remain aware of 75 years past and hundreds of years past?

We, most of the world, are in a global economy no matter whether you like it or not. Affordable flight and the inter/web/nets, among other things have made it that way. It won’t be going away anytime soon unless some great calamity changes it.

Beginning in 1939 the US began imposing economic sanctions on Japan essentially because Japan had become a powerful presence (economically and militarily) in Asia. Not unlike China has become in recent years.

Next, in a move aimed at Japan, President Roosevelt slapped an embargo “on all exports of scrap iron and steel to destinations other than Britain and the nations of the Western Hemisphere.” Finally, on July 26, 1941, Roosevelt “froze Japanese assets in the United States, thus bringing commercial relations between the nations to an effective end.

Japan sided with the Axis powers by signing the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy in September 1940. China has friends in Asia, North Korea and Iran among them. But unlike in the 40s they are nuclear friends.

The question is do you believe people, or more specifically politicians, learn from history or do they just grab the power (and money) and run? Will the lessons of December 7, 1941 live in infamy?
