Hey Koffla, long time. Sounds like fun especially the "318 curves in 11 miles". If you ever get out toward Sedona AZ we have Oak Creek Canyon which is a great run through beautiful scenery. I did some late night runs when I had a Fort Cortina.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

It was such a nice surprise to see a new post from you! Your blog was one of the first I read here...you ruined me for other blogs! I thought all the guys here were like you, boy was I wrong!

The name of the dam was Cheoah Dam and it's in Deals Gap.

Too bad Wisconsin isn't anywhere near your route. I'd take you up on your offer.

I've heard of it but haven't ridden it. I have a CB750 I'm getting road worthy again. Maybe this summer or fall.

Pack some seasick pills. I have a couple of friends with bikes. Up here the Mecca for bikers is Sturgis South Dakota.

It's lovely to see you back even if it is a brief visit. I'm glad you have something to keep you sane....everyone needs that in this crazy world...Enjoy the trip and take lots of photos.

I visit the blogs regularly, but has long ago stopped posting. This winter in Norway has not been that cold (a few days of -18 C) and there has been snow for skiing, but by now I am fed up with ice on sidewalks and walkways.
In February I had minor surgery and it was successful - but I had to take things easy for a while. It cost me 40$ + 20$ in medicine.

That sounds like a cool trip! (And now I know what you'll be doing with the GoPro). My new brother in law rides (and collects) Moto Guzzi and Ducati bikes, so I'm learning. He rides everyday, short trips, if he can, and always stops and takes cool photos with his bike.

Dude, seriously.... I know it's like only 20 minutes after you leave Philly but a coffee stop in Newark would be great!

I spend a week or so every summer near the Smoky Mountains (the Nantahala National Forest) with family, it's gorgeous and it's obviously a great place to ride a motorcycle! We've taken the railroad a few times and seen the wrecked locomotive from The Fugitive... would that be Fontana Dam?

Have a super time!
