Fool Around In The Interim A Poem

Even though
I make arrangements,
It is not with any certainty
That I will follow through
For myself or my partner
May have cold feet
And decide to forgo
Our meet.

It is also the fact
That none of those
I am meeting
Can be more than FWBs.
For love is not something
That I see them feeling.

I can fool around
In the interim
That is what I have come
To experience.
Interim sex
Until the whole package
Presents itself.
I am not holding my breath!
I just have my heart
On reserve.
For it is not wanted
And if seen
Is still overlooked.
