~~ Audio Visual food? :) :)

In 1953, C.A. Swanson & Sons was about to forever changed the prepackaged meal business. Introducing the TV Dinner revolutionized frozen food. The first Swanson TV Dinner consisted of a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, cornbread dressing, peas and sweet potatoes. The original tray was made of aluminum and each food item had separate compartments. The dinner had to be heated in the oven and took about 25 minutes to cook. Today most frozen food trays are made of microwaveable safe material.
I can remember the first TV Dinners. What an exciting idea and treat when we had them. It was so amazing and always had a desert ! Over the years they have of course evolved. I eat fewer and fewer of them, they have taken a very artificial taste to me. Even my Godsons avoid them, saying there is just not a type they like. Have you ever had a TV dinner? Did you enjoy them as a ? Do have a type you would serve today?

It seemed that at first the Turkey dinner was the stand by meal [image]

I loved the ones that had cinnamon apple rings for dessert!! I wouldn't touch one now for anything. Back then they were a "treat"
