Mutts, so many dogs need a good home.

cats are affectionate, even if selectively,

but most importantly, can go pee or poop by themselves.

can go away for a weekend and give a little extra food,

make sure the water and litterboxes are fresh,

and theres no issues upon coming home.

"well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"

I prefer mutts, they are not as aggressive as the pure breed and their temperament seems to be more loving .

J There is a Cat which owns this house!
It allegedly belongs to my daughter, but after she moved out the cat stayed with my late wife. Now it controls my son and me

I am more of a Mutt person, but haven't had a Dog since before I left school.
Mutts or Heinz dogs as they are sometimes called here in the UK, due to the Heinz 57 varieties advertising, are much more interesting than a purebreed. [/SIIZE]

Always had dogs, but after I had to let my last one go, it appears stray cast started finding their way to me, but I think pet ownership is hugely therapeutic for we humans...as long as we're kind owners

And unfortunately too many animals need rescuing from cat and dog homes

J..I so get that my friend I'm scared of dogs ever since I got bit by my own dog because my inlaws abused him. He was my baby and I had to have him put to sleep.. I am looking for a Siamese Kitten myself.

I hope you have a safe flight and a great week..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

If your in-laws abused the dog, if you allowed your in-laws to abuse the dog, you were not the alpha dog and should not have had one until you were prepared. Dogs are like children, they need a master (the alpha dog) but you put him to sleep - permanently.

How about a hedgehog or a great salt-water aquarium? They enhance the decor when done right

I'm surprised nobody has volunteered to be your pet

I'm a dog lover and would really love to have another one but I wouldn't until I retire completely because I wouldn't leave a dog alone for 12 hours at a time. That's not fair. It would have to be a rescue dog too for me.

I got as far as "bacon" and then I forgot the rest!

I'm a cat person, definitely. Don't have one here, but did have when I was growing up on the farm.

Have a safe trip.

I am a dog person. I have a Bull Mastiff and a Great Pyrenees. Slightly larger than you are looking for. A rescue of a smaller breed sounds like the way to go.

I have both a cat and a dog, and I reckon you can guess who rules the house. Oh, and neither is purebred. In fact the dog was saved from being put down and is just the placidest thing (even though it is a staffordshire cross)

I've got a mixed breed dog and quite happy with it.

Like cats, mine died from Valley Fever a few years back, and I haven't gotten another one since.

None of the above. I had plenty of miscellaneous pets as a kid and am all petted out. I prefer my freedom, no requirement to get home and walk the dog or feed the cat. Able to leave at the drop of a hat if desired without having to make arrangements etc.

I've had both at the same time with no problems.

I prefer cats. They are easier to take care of and since we travel frequently, It is easier for our nephew to stop by every other day to check on him.

Chose purepreds, but actually, if there was an option for Dogs, luv 'em all, that's what I would have chosen - really all depends on the dog....

Good luck, hope you find a great one!! I'm sure you will. Cheers!

I HATE cats! We have a cat outside to help keep the mouse population down, but my idea of a good cat is one who is never seen! Most purebred dogs are just too darn expensive. That's my 2 cents. You're welcum!!

I've had my rescue dog since he was a two year-old. He's now twelve.

Hi misskissin. You mentioned what YOU would like, but what does your Daughter want, or like? It may be something different than your thoughts ! They may be the same as yours, or maybe she thinks about something else ! ? Ask her how she feels about this and that, and you will know.

Michael.

Being curious and asking questions is a good thing!

Since I had to choose, I chose mutts. But I have cats and dogs. All rescues. I had one dog from the shelter, but the 3 others, fell into my lap. The cats, also, fell into my lap. I would only have a pure bred if it was a rescue. I would never ever buy an animal!!!!
As long as people know that owning a pet is a life long commitment, I'm good with that.

I need a really great kiss!!

I had a bad experience with a neighborhood dog as a child and have the scar on my leg to prove it. Needless to say, I am not the biggest fan of dogs. Yes, they're adorable but they're not for me.

I do love some pussy though! I have two tuxedo kitties, Freckles and Snookie. They're awesome little assholes and I love em!

I've always been a dog lover. I like pure bred, and mutts. All of my dogs have been great companions through the years, and I miss them all. I've also had guinea pigs in the past. They too are a good pet.

All good here. The deck was painted, the fire pit is about 2 years old, the dog Christmas 2015.
I was up your way twice the last month. Newport for a wedding and Foxborough for a for an MLS game. Long rides, but good times.
Hope you are doing well..

definitely mutts, mine, Charlie went every where, and he had a personality unmatched, he even got into restaurants...first question they'd ask..."is Charlie in the truck?" Can we go get him? Unfortunately he was killed, kind of ruined it for me
