Life.s Simple Truths

I did not write this but it sure struck a chord with me. I hope you enjoy it.

Barely the day started and it's already six in the evening.
Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday.
.. and the month is already over.
.. and the year is almost over.
.. and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed.
.. and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.
.. and we realize it's too late to go back.

So.. Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time.
Let's keep looking for activities that we like.
Let's put some colour in our grey.
Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.

And despite everything,
we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left.
Let's try to eliminate the "afters"..
I'm doing it after.
I'll say after.
I'll think about it after.
We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.
Because what we don't understand is that:
Afterwards, the coffee gets cold.
Afterwards, priorities change.
Afterwards, the charm is broken.
Afterwards, health passes.
Afterwards, the grow up.
Afterwards, parents get old.
Afterwards, promises are forgotten.
Afterwards, the day becomes the night.
Afterwards, life ends.
And then it's often too late.

So.. Let's leave nothing for later.
Because still waiting to see later, we can lose the best moments, the best
experiences, best friends, the best family.

The day is today.
The moment is now.
We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs
to be done right away.

It Looks Like An Eternity,
But It's A Short Trip,
Enjoy Life And Always
Be Kind.

I guess the best any of use can do is try to make tomorrow better than today, and turn off the news broadcast because we all know that it's bad according to what we were told yesterday. Getting upset over what may or may not have happened yesterday will not help our tomorrows. Thanks and Take Care.

So true even my dad said it many times
Once to a friend who asked him to go fishing
" Thanks but No there we'll be other days" Dad past away 5 days later at the age of 65. 1991 I was not even 29, I'm 59 now.
I look at all my hunting buddies that are now in there late 70 and mid 80 still getting up and heading out to the woods to sit and wait not caring if a deer come bye. if one does it a plus weather to take our pass.
I want to be them some day.
Enjoy what you do in life with people you like and like you.

I'd rather be sorry for something I've done than for something I didn't do. I have been fortunate to have pretty much followed this philosophy throughout my life so there haven't been too many "After's".

When you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance - I haven't missed too many opportunities to dance and I wouldn't change any of it and I hope to continue dancing when I get the chance

As we grow older, the 'now' is more meaningful. We learn to appreciate each and every day as nothing is ever guaranteed.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and experience. Too often, people put off what they could / should do and end up having regrets. It's also important to enjoy your own company. I learned a long time ago, to not wait or rely on other people. If there's something I want to do and DO IT. Of course, it would be nice to have company but I don't want to feel "I wish I had..."

I hadn't seen this before. The words and the picture complement each other and are what many can relate to. With all that is going on in your world, thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment.

Totally agree it's not things that are important. It's relationships and the moments we have that create memories.

When you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance - I haven't missed too many opportunities to dance and I wouldn't change any of it and I hope to continue dancing when I get the chance
Reminds me of the song, I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'
Don't let some Hell bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider
Give the Heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance (Time is a wheel in constant motion)
I hope you dance (Always rolling us along)
I hope you dance (Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
I hope you dance (Where those years have gone?)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance (Time is a wheel in constant motion)
I hope you dance (Always rolling us along)
I hope you dance (Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
I hope you dance (Where those years have gone?)

Tell me who wants to look back on their years
And wonder where those years have gone

Songwriters: Sanders Mark Daniel, Sillers Tia Maria

I do too and it's what caught my attention to read the words. Like the old ad said, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste".
